The sinus comes into play when we want to do an implant on an upper molar. Because of the sinus, there may not be enough bone height to put an implant in after we remove the tooth. In these cases, we must do a sinus lift and graft bone underneath the sinus membrane. In some cases, we will be able to place the implant the same day as the sinus lift, other times, we will let the lift heal and place the implant four months later.
